1841 SG7 1d RED BROWN - BLACK
PLATE 1b GOOD USED 4 MARGIN STRIP OF 4 RARE (GC/GF) A rare strip of 4,
margins all round, each struck by "smudgy" Maltese cross cancellation. No pinholes,
or thins, a good used strip. SG Cat £1900.00 as 2 pairs.
|

1841 SG7 1d RED BROWN - BLACK PLATE 5 VERY RARE
UNCATALOGUED BLOCK OF 4
Unpriced by Gibbons as blocks of 4 from the
red plates are so rare. This one does have faults, a small thin top centre as seen on
the image and a 2mm vertical knife cut in the top margin. No pinholes, creases, or
damage other than listed above. Margin barely touching if at all NW corner left side of
OF, and margin cut into on OG right side. However, each stamp nicely struck by
a Maltese cross. SG Cat for a single 1d Black from this plate is £375.00
- and £18,000 for a block of 4. A single 1d Red Black from this plate cats at
£180.00. A block is scarcer than a block of 1d Blacks, so would conservatively
support and estimate of around £8640.00 as a fine used block of 4 (18,000/ (375/180) Find another one - in any
condition - anywhere!

Getting bored or having trouble of filling those
spaces in your Windsor album? Well here is an idea for a new area to collect - GB stamps
used abroad. From the mid 19th century, before Commonwealth countries had their
own stamps printed with their countries name on them, stamps of Great Britain printed
here in England were sent to the "colonies" to be used for postage, and each
country had it's own hand stamps. Eg A25 for Malta, A26 for Gibraltar. Click on any
of the examples above to see more from this nice collection we are selling.
