A very fine unmounted mint corner marginal example, in Violet on crown watermarked gummed paper.
These were printed in 1900 as proposed colour trials for what eventually became the bi-coloured issue.
The is a light gum bend on the upper part of the stamp. Very rare. SG Cat 2400.00
Order 15780 - 1950.00

1887 JUBILEE SG198 11/2d PURPLE & GREEN RARE VOID PRINTING ERROR WATERMARK INVERTED
A mint marginal example from the right side of the sheet, the purple head plate has a void area top right, note the green leaves from the duty plate are there. It also appears that the watermark is "Inverted"  which can just be seen from the front in the void area. Inverted watermarks on this value are very rare.
There are a couple of bends and the back, although is unhinged with full gum, it is a tad soiled, but find another one!

1864/1879 SG43/44 1d RED PLATES MINT HINGED SELECTION
If you are trying to assemble a full set of mint 1d red plates, we have just purchased a lovely collection which we are now listing
on eBay as a "multiple listing". They nearly all have quite a heavy hinge as usual across the top but are priced accordingly, but all are nice fresh examples.
We are also offering further discount if you buy more that one at a time.
Click on any of the images above to take you straight there. More are being added so keep watching.

A lovely collection of postal history and covers are being listed, including some interesting material from Ireland.

1841 SG8 1d RED BROWN PART RECONSTRUCTION 198 OF 240 MALTESE CROSSES UNPLATED
198 out of 240 letter positions from AA to TL. Mixed condition, from sound with faults - thins, creases, pinholes etc.
but including many good/fine used 4 margin examples.
Unplated and unchecked for varieties, so a great lot for study, continuation, improvement.
SG Cat 12,000.00 cheapest unplated for F/U singles. A great lot at under 5% cat.

1887 SG211 1s DULL GREEN 1st & 2nd SETTING DIVISIONAL ORNAMENT MATCHED PAIRS VERY RARE
Both from the bottom row, stamps 6 & 7 of the post office sheet of 120 stamps.
On the left from the 1st setting without marginal rules, on the right from the 2nd setting with a green rule in the margin.
Both unfolded through the divisional ornament, which is rare in itself.
Both items are totally unmounted mint. On the left is the Dull Green shade - K40(1) on the right the paler Grey Green shade K40(2).
A exceptionally rare exhibition quality item, and I would suggest almost impossible to assemble as such today, especially so fine.
Order: 15497 - 1950.00 SOLD

1890 SG210 DEEP PURPLE & CARMINE PANE OF 20 1st MARGINAL SETTING - VERY RARE
From setting "A" - the 1st marginal setting - short vertical pillars at the top - long purple pillar at the left.
From the south east corner of the sheet - probably pane "H". Only three full panes are known to exist, one is in the National Postal Museum.
All stamps are unmounted mint, hinged in the margin. As far as we are aware, this is the first on offer for over 20 years.
Order 15472 - 12,000

For a nice selection of reasonably priced 4 margin 1d blacks, click on any of the examples above.

Getting bored or having trouble of filling those spaces in your Windsor album? Well here is an idea for a new area to collect - GB stamps used abroad.
From the mid 19th century, before Commonwealth countries had their own stamps printed with their countries name on them, stamps of Great Britain printed here in England were sent to the "colonies" to be used for postage, and each country had it's own hand stamps. Eg A25 for Malta, A26 for Gibraltar.
Click on any of the examples above to see more from this nice collection we are selling.

1840 SG5 2d BLUE PLATE 1 RARE STRIP OF 4 SCOTTISH MALTESE CROSSES VARIETY HE/HH
Possibly in the "steel blue" shade, each stamp is neatly cancelled by an Edinburgh Maltese cross.
Note each strike has a gap in the outer ring on the left side - unusual.
Each stamp clearly has a fault, either marginal or a bend through at the bottom, running down the right side of HF - probably from filing fold.
Despite faults a rare item, and priced accordingly but open to sensible offers. SG Cat 4000.00 as 2 pairs.
Order: 15123 - SOLD

There is a hinge in the top left margin, and a thin in the lower right corner in the margin only.
There may have been a vertical fold between stamp 1/2. From pane "B/F" probably from the right side of the right sheet.
Probably the scarcest of the margin settings on this value. A rare item, especially in this deep shade.
